CIP 5

A small and useful program that makes your surfing the Internet significantly faster, by creating a local DNS-list of the web sites you visit. In a nutshell, every time we want to access a certain web page, we enter the page's URL containing a domain name (like www.mysite.com) in the Address bar, whereafter our computer sends a request to a special DNS-server that keeps vast lists of hosts, and in these lists the domain name 'mysite.com' is associated with a certain numerical IP address (like 209.157.26.149). In fact, every computer has a certain numerical IP address in the Internet, and any two computers connect and communicate with each other using their numerical IP addresses, not the addresses 'in letters'. Domain names in letters have been created to be conveniently read and used by Internet users (i.e. all of us). Thus, every time we enter a page's URL 'in letters', we waste our time to find out the corresponding IP address, although we can avoid it - there is a special 'hosts' file in Windows and this 'hosts' file allows us to manually write which IP address is associated with which domain name. Still another way to do so is to use CIP - this program will write down and remember all the IP addresses of the web sites you visit. The program is also capable of checking its IP addresses list and update it in case any of the addresses have changed.
