Marlin comes in two editions: Marlin Lite and Marlin Pro. Marlin Lite is freeware but it contains some functional limitations:
- profiles are unavailable
- does not have news support (NNTP)
- no possibility to encrypt folder contents
- no possibility to define specific folder for each account
- spam filtering by database is unavailable
- no filters-folders
