Files erased with System Purifier are physically deleted and cannot be recovered or "undeleted" with disk recovery tools. Use it to completely erase critical information from your disk. Despite being an "all-in-one file shredder, privacy eraser, disk cleaner, startup-manager and registry optimizer," System Purifier lacks quite a number of features found in other similar applications. According to the program's manual, "System Purifier physically erases your critical files, by overwriting the portion on the hard drive that is allocated to the files several times", which means that the program does not let you specify the number of passes, nor does it give you the option to choose the method whereby to erase your sensitive data (DoD, Gutmann etc). According to the manual, "An erased file can still be recovered with recovery tools, but the recovered file will be filled with zeroes or junk unreadable data." That's not enough. A high-quality shredder would make the file totally disappear from the system, leaving no traces of its ever having been there.
