WinDefender encrypts files and folders so that no one can see the encrypted data unless they run WinDefender and type in a password. The encryption/decryption process is transparent to the user, due to the program's special low-level driver capable of working with all file types, be it a usual document or an executable file.Among other things, WinDefender enables you to restrict access to certain user-defined files and folders (i.e. you can set access rights for any file or folder so that a certain file can be read but not modified, etc); and also interesting is WinDefender's ability to read encrypted data directly from CD (i.e. you can store any sensitive data on CDs). Until registered, WinDefender allows encryption of only one file or folder. |
