InkMonitor is a program for ink and laser printers (Hewlett Packard, Canon, Epson, ...). InkMonitor allows you to calculate the amount of ink/toner in your printer according to the number of already printed pages. The program's operating principle is based on the simple fact that the majority of manufacturers tell you the approximate amount of pages that can be printed using one cartridge. This invaluable information, together with the known number of the pages already printed, give InkMonitor enough data to calculate the approximate state of the cartridge. This means that InkMonitor does not check this on the hardware level. That is, the program's calculations are pretty approximate. It does count the number of printed pages correctly, though.
