Privatefirewall monitors and allows connections that it knows to be trusted or authorized, and prevents any unauthorized connections. The program is supplied with three preset security levels indicated by color, so to use the program you do not need to be a network security expert - the green, yellow, and red colors indicate the program's security level, the red one being the highest. On the other hand, experienced users can manually configure the program's current security level, including blocking of JavaScripts, ActiveX, cookies, and so on. What distinguishes Privatefirewall from other similar programs is the SecurePOP feature, which works with Outlook and Outlook Express, and the Stealth Mode enabling you to hide your computer's IP address thus making your computer 'invisible'. |
