Description by the Software Developer: "Registry Trash Keys Finder (TrashReg) is an advanced Registry cleaning tool. The main function of RTKF is to allow the removal of unnecessary keys from the Windows Registry. Many programs leave keys in the Registry, even after programs removal using an uninstallation facility provided with the programs themselves. RTKF allows you to decide whether to delete or leave the keys found.
An additional effect (it may be the main aim for some users) of removal of these keys is the "revival" of some programs trial versions after the initial trial period has expired.
The program RTKF is not a crack but is an addition to other serious Registry cleaning software. No breach of software license agreement of the programms in use which remains are found by TrashReg takes place: nothing is patched into EXE files and their action is not traced by special spies. I do not distribute any registration keys, and moreover one may not know anything about trial versions of any programs, which for their needs could write something hiddenly. So as the RTKF user you simply clean some trash from your computer Registry."
Softoogle's Review of Registry Trash Keys Finder 184.108.40.206 upd. September 30, 2006
Registry Trash Keys Finder (RTKF) is a very handy tool that searches for Registry keys created by various trialware programs protected by software protection methods such as ASProtect, Armadillo, ACProtect, SVK Protect, PCGuard, Obsidium etc. Once the key is found, RTKF gives you the option to delete it; and once it is deleted, some trialware programs may all of a sudden become immortal.
This is how it works. When you install a trialware program protected with either of the above software protection methods, it creates a key (or several keys) in your Windows Registry. Every time you run the trialware program, it reads those Registry keys and checks whether or not its trial period has expired and counts how many days are left till it expires.
But if you happen to decide to clean up your Registry a little bit, and in the process of cleaning up you delete (accidentally, of course) the keys created by the trialware program, the program will think it never created them and will act as though it were installed for the first time: the Registry keys will be created anew and the trial period will start all over again. And if you clean up your Registry every day, the trial period will simply never end.
Is this legal? Well, it's your Registry, and it's up to you what to keep in there and what to delete.
Registry Trash Keys Finder doesn't require installation; simply unpack trashreg.zip to a directory of your choice and then run TrashReg.exe.
